
Biography
Sydney-born soprano Katherine Allen studied voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before completing her master’s degree at the Royal College of Music in London. She made her European debut in the 2023/24 season as Adela in Reimann’s Bernarda Albas Haus at Musiktheater im Revier.

In the 2025/26 season, Allen is an ensemble member at Musiktheater im Revier, performing Musetta (La Bohème), Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Clara (The Light in the Piazza), Wanda (Die Großherzogin von Gérolstein), and Soprano in Monty Python’s Not the Messiah. In the previous season, she sang Mother-in-Law in the German Premiere of Saariaho’s Innocence at Musiktheater im Revier, and Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) in Australia with Victorian Opera.

Her other notable roles include Cunegonde (Candide) with Victorian Opera, Katerina Cavalieri (Amadeus) with the Sydney Opera House, and Josephine (HMS Pinafore) with the Hayes Theatre Company.
